"Across the canyon, near the bottom of the very smooth cliff wall, are three large figures painted with red pigment - further evidence that people used Calf Creek for hundreds of years. With their trapezoid shape, depictions of arms and legs, and elaborate head dresses, these images are typical of FREMONT STYLE ROCK ART. Their meaning is unknown. Archeologists speculate that it may represent significant events, religious ceremonies, information, maps, or even warnings..." Taken from the trail guide. I wanted to cross the creek and get closer to the drawings, but my group was rushing back to the campsite - the sky looked ominous. It hardly rained that night, but in the morning we woke up to the snowflakes, and then it really started snowing heavily! Next time, I said to myself. I wonder who will join us next Spring!
