I'm glad that somebody took this picture. It's ''Pollepel Island and Bannerman's Castle, built in the early 1900s by industrialist Francis Bannerman, who made his fortune selling second-hand military equipment''.

Good job researching!   The next question is: Is it open to the public?  Anyone lives there now?  And if you have a cayack, can you get to the island?

''The Bannerman Island-Hudson Highlands State Park walking tour requires walking up and down 68 steps, steep inclines and sometimes rough trails. Because this is a hard hat tour, strollers are not allowed. The Island is not handicapped accessible. The island was placed off-limits to the public.'' I don't think that somebody lives there.
